That means that when it leaves our facility, it is ready to be installed by one of our builder partners as an ENERGY STAR certified home. These homes must meet the guidelines for energy efficiency set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; that is, they must be at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20 to 30% more efficient than standard homes.
